Carroll Charest

Interim Exhibitions Director

Biography

Carroll is a fine artist who creates and shows her works in the greater Edmonton area.  Carroll experienced many art fields while attending Alberta College of Art & Design from regular painting and drawing to sculpture, glass blowing, metalsmithing, and jewelry making, graduating from their 4-year Diploma Program with distinction by winning the Heritage Travel Scholarship Award in 1988 & 1989.

After graduating, and years of working on her drawing skills on her own, Carroll joined some of the local art societies in order to learn and grow from other artists.  This led to a workshop learning sculpting with clay.

Carroll uses a variety of media to express her creativity, from dry media such as charcoals and pastels but mostly loves working with clay and mixed media.  Carroll enjoys the raw, hands on physicality of these media.

She uses a multitude of sources found in nature that provide a dynamic, organic, energetic flow that inspires her creative endeavors.
