Karen Klassen works as full-time mosaic artist in Edmonton, Alberta. She creates highly textural abstract mosaic art using natural and manmade materials.

Karen’s body of work is extensive and diverse, ranging from public art, large-scale stone sculptures and smaller intricate mosaic pieces. Her artistic journey led her to enroll in classes at The Chicago Mosaic School, where she honed her technical skills and adopted a materially-oriented approach to her art education.

She believes in the importance of exploration and experimentation, constantly pushing the boundaries of her creativity and seeking new ideas.
